Through the collaboration we devised a new notation for the piece which was created through series of visual stimuli which has successfully transferred the piece to a new pair of performers and to a new piece - Elspeth Piggot and Will Ozard who performed the piece at the Lunchtime Chimera Concert in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall Friday 22nd November 2013.
We (Jenny Green and Patrick Burnett) took the piece to the INTIME 2014 Symposium in Coventry where the two performers were brought back together over a year after their first performance and their performance was once again very different - even more dramatic! I also gave a short paper on our collaborative process.

I was commissioned by Soprano Jay Green to collaborate with her on a piece of music theatre - specifically with graphic notation - for an MA recital. I intensively collaborated on the piece with Jay and clarinetist Patrick Burnett, creating an exciting and terrifying piece of Musical Theatre. For the piece I wanted to use an expressive, dark and visual monologue from Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi to stretch Jay's acting abilities. An important part of the collaboration was the drama, emphasizing the sexual tension in the play, and exploring the scene and characters: Jay as the noble, tragic, strong yet inwardly terrified Duchess of Malfi, and Patrick as her executioner Borsola combined with Ferdinand the incestuously obsessed brother.
